“I said until APC is fixed, you cannot talk of contesting election using the platform,” Oshiomhole said, adding that the coast is clear with the conduct of the party’s national convention and the emergence of a new National Working Committee (NWC).
“And it is time for me to join the race to represent Edo North in the Senate,” he said, assuring the people of the senatorial district that he would not disappoint them if elected.
“Our leaders from the six local government areas have gathered here today to say I should contest and with their support, we will get there,” he said.
Earlier, the leaders of the party in the senatorial district had asked Oshiomhole to represent them in the Senate.
With his declaration, Oshiomhole will slug it out with the incumbent lawmaker, Francis Alimikhena who has been in the Senate since 2015.
