The National Chairman of Progressives Consolidation Group (PCG), Alhaji Aliyu Rabiu Kurfi, has said the outing of the group’s members to Katsina State has given hope that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will become president in 2023.

The group has embarked on visits to top politicians across the country projecting Osinbajo as the best man for the number one job in the next general elections.

Addressing newsmen yesterday in Abuja, Kurfi said their weekend mobilisation and advocacy visit to Katsina State governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk and a strategic meeting with APC members from all the 34 local government areas in the state was a big success.

“Governor Masari personally received us and advised that we also apply our members’ energies towards further strengthening the APC nationwide.

“Our royal father, the Emir of Daura also heard our genuinely patriotic reasons for making Professor Yemi Osinbajo our preference for leadership of Nigeria.

“We assure all true progressives and members of the APC in Nigeria and abroad at the government house, at the palace and our strategic meetings with various stakeholders drawn from all the local government areas of Katsina State, on our concerns for stability, unity, peace and progress of Nigeria,” Kurfi said.
