Plateau State leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have thrown their weight behind the state governor, Simon Lalong, to contest the 2023 presidency.

The leaders, who met yesterday in Jos the state capital to discuss Lalong’s candidature, also discussed the recent political crisis in the state as well as that in the state House of Assembly.

In their resolution, they noted that Lalong had been able to manage political affairs effectively and could equally manage the affairs of the nation to fruition if given the mandate.

Speaking on behalf of the leaders after their meeting, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, said the governor’s expertise in crisis management and how he has been able to bridge the ethno-religious gap among the different segments in the state is an indication that he would take Nigeria to greater heights if voted as president.

He said despite the plans of crisis merchants in the state, Lalong has been running an all-inclusive government, adding that the governor should not allow himself to be distracted.

Zazzaga said Lalong possesses the skills to unite Nigeria, adding that the role he has been playing as Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum is commendable.
