Prominent Islamic cleric: 73 of my excos chose Atiku but I am for Tinubu

The Chairman Council of Ulama, Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, has endorsed Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Presidential election.

According to him, the choice of Tinubu is based on his personal interest and conviction but should not stop his followers from voting candidates of their choice.

Sheikh Jingir made the endorsement at the closing of the JIBWIS’s 30th National Annual Seminar held in Jos.

He said, “The executive committee of JIBWIS, have met and I asked members to make their choices among the Presidential candidates.

“During the voting process, Atiku had 73 votes, Tinubu got 13 votes, others said they will go with whatever decision I might take. I will vote for Tinubu, this is my personal decision and you can also  vote for whoever you wish to vote for,” he said.
He admonished Tinubu, to be fair and just to all irrespective of religious, tribal or sectional differences, if eventually elected President of the Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the Islamic group has assured that it will maintain its methodology of teaching and preaching in accordance with Quran and Sunnah to ensure effective religious, moral, economic and social development of the Muslim Ummah.
