The Edo State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board has charged intending pilgrims in the state to begin early preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
The Board’s Chairman , Mall. Musa Muhammad Uduimoh, gave the charge in a statement by the board’s secretary, Alhaji Eranga Abdulkabir Muhammadkabir.
He said the call became necessary as the holy month of Ramadan is expected to fall in February 2026, thereby placing the Hajj operations timeline much earlier than usual.
“Prospective pilgrims should take advantage of the early notice to complete all necessary documentation, including international passports, medical requirements, and registration formalities, to avoid last-minute challenges,” he said.
He said early preparation would enable intending pilgrims to adequately prepare spiritually, physically and financially for the sacred journey.
He added that it also allows the board to plan effectively for logistics, welfare arrangements, and coordination with relevant authorities.
According to him, the board would in the coming weeks roll out orientation exercises for intending pilgrims.
He, however, reaffirmed the board’s commitment to ensuring a smooth, well-coordinated, and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience for all pilgrims from the state.
