2027: Aliyu enters reps race, picks APC nomination forms

Barrister Nazeef Babaji Aliyu, known as the Chigari Giade, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Shira/Giade Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

Aliyu has purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, marking his official entry into the race under the party’s platform.

The legal practitioner and philanthropist previously contested under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) before switching allegiance to the APC, a move he and supporters describe as a strategic alignment ahead of the next electoral cycle.

His campaign is largely being driven by grassroots supporters within the constituency, who have consistently called for his return to active political contestation.

Aliyu is known within the constituency for various humanitarian interventions, including empowerment initiatives and community support programmes. He has also been involved in advocacy around local security concerns in parts of Bauchi State.

Supporters say his decision to join the APC reflects an effort to align with the party’s broader national agenda, while strengthening his political base in Shira and Giade local government areas.

Following the announcement, reactions and congratulatory messages have circulated across social and political circles, with supporters sharing images of Aliyu displaying his nomination documents alongside backers.

Among those who publicly acknowledged the development is his political associate, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, who has been linked to his earlier political engagements.

The development signals the beginning of early political positioning in Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 elections, as aspirants begin formal steps within party structures.
