The South South leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Wing has entered into a strategic partnership with the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and expand support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The commitment was made during a strategic meeting and courtesy visit by APC youth leaders from across the South South region to the office of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors along Udo Udoma Avenue in Uyo on Thursday.
The meeting focused on promoting unity, collaboration, and active youth engagement in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda across the region.
Speaking during the engagement, the APC South South Youth Leader, Prince Avwomakpotor Koyoyo Uhrorho, described the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Obong Prince Ikim, as a credible grassroots mobiliser with the capacity to galvanise support for the APC among young people.
According to him, the regional youth leadership deliberately identified Ikim as one of the tested political leaders capable of driving effective youth mobilisation and strengthening the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 polls.
“We are here because we found you worthy as one of the leaders in this region that we need to work with. We need leaders with credibility, capacity, and strong grassroots acceptance who can engage young people and help deliver victory for our party,” Uhrorho said.
He noted that modern elections require constructive engagement and strategic communication rather than violence, adding that misinformation on social media had negatively affected public perception of government policies.
Uhrorho explained that the APC youth wing had commenced consultations across the South South to identify credible leaders who could effectively communicate the achievements and reforms of the Tinubu administration to the grassroots.
He further commended Prince Ikim for his commitment to public service and political mobilisation, saying his performance justified his appointment as coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Akwa Ibom State.
Responding, Prince Ikim appreciated the visiting youth leaders for their support and commitment to the APC and President Tinubu, describing the Renewed Hope Agenda as a transformative vision already producing visible results across the country.
He highlighted key reforms under the Tinubu administration, including economic reforms, the student loan scheme, infrastructure development, power sector reforms, improved revenue generation, and initiatives aimed at food security and economic recovery.
Ikim particularly singled out the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project as a landmark initiative capable of boosting economic activities across the South South and South East regions.
“Today, Nigerians can clearly see that the Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a slogan but a working vision. As youth leaders and ambassadors of this movement, we carry the responsibility of ensuring that the achievements and reforms of government are properly communicated to the grassroots,” he said.
The coordinator stressed the need for youths to serve as a bridge between government and citizens through civic engagement, strategic communication, and mass mobilisation, while also conveying the concerns of the people back to government.
Prince Ikim also commended Senate President Godswill Akpabio, governors of the South South region, ministers, lawmakers, and other political stakeholders for supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda and contributing to peace and development in the region.
He further praised Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno for what he described as inclusive and people-oriented leadership through the ARISE Agenda, particularly in infrastructure, youth empowerment, agriculture, and rural development.
In his vote of thanks, Rt. Hon. Dr. Henry Archibong commended the South South APC youth leadership for identifying with Akwa Ibom and praised President Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, and Prince Ikim for providing purposeful leadership and creating opportunities for youths to contribute to governance and national development.
The meeting ended with renewed commitments by youth leaders and political stakeholders across the South South to deepen collaboration, strengthen grassroots mobilisation, and sustain advocacy for the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 elections.
