A coalition of focal persons, project coordinators and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has endorsed Governor Mai Mala Buni for the Yobe East Senatorial seat and former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, for the governorship seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was made during a stakeholders’ summit organised by the Forum of Focal Persons and Project Coordinators in Damaturu.

The meeting attracted the Secretary to the State Government, permanent secretaries, government officials, APC stakeholders, project coordinators and political leaders from across the state.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Forum, Muhammad Umar, said the endorsement was based on competence, experience and the need to sustain the developmental strides recorded under Governor Buni’s administration.

He said the state required leadership that would guarantee continuity, stability and effective coordination of governance.

According to him, Baba Malam Wali possesses the administrative experience and understanding of governance necessary to consolidate ongoing reforms and development initiatives in the state.

Umar added that the endorsement was aimed at sustaining the legacies of former Governor Ibrahim Gaidam and Governor Buni.

The forum also endorsed Governor Buni for the Yobe East Senatorial seat, citing his contributions to infrastructure development, institutional reforms and peace-building across the state.

In his remarks, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Mohammed Goje, described the gathering as a demonstration of unity and continuity within the APC in Yobe State.

He commended the organisers for promoting party cohesion and supporting the developmental agenda of the Buni administration.

Goje also called on party members, women and youth groups to remain united and support the vision of stability and inclusive development in the state.

In separate goodwill messages, APC stakeholders, Alhaji Baba Shehu and Dauda Mohammed Gombe, urged party members to maintain unity and strengthen internal cohesion ahead of the 2027 elections.

The summit ended with calls for sustained peace, political stability and continuity in Yobe State.
