A coalition of Youth, All Progressive Congress (APC) loyalists, and residents in Gulani, Yobe State, have urged Abubakar Mohammed Kukuwa (Zanna Dujima of Gujba emirate) to contest the Gulani House of Assembly Seat in the 2027 general elections.
Abubakar, a Deputy Superintendent of Narcotic, is now retired.
The appeal, which was made in a statement signed by the leaders of the coalition, Musa Bamai Bara and Kwonjami Musa Bularafa, described Abubakar’s humanitarian record and leadership qualities as the reason for his endorsement.
“We are begging and calling on him to contest for the House of Assembly seat for Gulani local government constituency, being an energetic youth who dedicated his life to serving the masses at the grassroot level.
“We have examined his humanitarian personality and pedigree through extensive consultations with the grassroots prior to this conference. Consequently, we will not accept ‘no’ as an answer..
“Do not say No, because your refusal will be a colossal damage to our trust and confidence in you. We pray to Allah (SWT) to give you the wisdom to respond to this call,” he said
He noted that, despite development efforts of the Governor Mai Mala’s administration, the constituency is still faced with several legislative challenges.
“We are optimistic that Zanna Dujima’s connection to the grassroots, combined with his strategic vision, will, in a short time, uplift the living conditions of our constituents,” he stated.
The coalition leader further praised Mr. Kukuwa’s inclusive approach, highlighting his ability to unite diverse groups within the constituency.
“Zanna Dujima is a bridge-builder who understands the importance of carrying everyone along, irrespective of their background. He consistently shares cars, motorcycles, cash, and food items with people without bias,” Mr. Bularafa said.
He also commended the Yobe State Governor, Honourable Mai Mala Buni, for his pragmatic leadership and for affording youth the opportunity to transform the lives of people in the state.
“Governor Buni’s result-oriented leadership is gradually reflecting in the people he has built. We therefore desire that he continue to impact our lives positively,” Mr. Bularafa concluded.
