In a statement issued by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Judith Aguenu, the DLA said the exercise was peacefully conducted in line with the party’s constitution and relevant electoral guidelines.
According to the statement, duly accredited delegates participated in the affirmation process, while officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitored the proceedings.
The party commended aspirants, delegates, stakeholders and members for what it described as their maturity, unity and commitment to democratic values throughout the process.
It added that the emergence of Memeh as consensus candidate reflected the party’s resolve to present a united front in pursuit of credible leadership and national transformation.
The DLA also reaffirmed its commitment to issue-based politics, internal democracy and good governance.
