An Abuja-based group, Support for Impactful Governance (SIG), has expressed support for the re-election of the member representing Nasarawa Federal Constituency in Kano State, Shehu Hassan Hussain, citing what it described as his strong performance in office.
In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by its spokesman, Dapo Ipoola, the group said the lawmaker заслуживает another term based on his record of “diligent and purposeful representation.”
According to the statement, re-election is often determined by the quality of representation, noting that lawmakers who deliver tangible results and maintain close ties with their constituents are more likely to secure another mandate.
“In Nasarawa Federal Constituency, the representation of Shehu Hassan Hussain in the House of Representatives calls for re-election, if not for anything, for his dutiful and people-oriented service,” the statement read.
The group highlighted the lawmaker’s contributions to legislative and constituency development, including the sponsorship of bills such as the proposed Federal Vocational Skills Acquisition College in Yankaba, Kano State; the National Institute for Cardiovascular Disease Research and Treatment; and amendments to existing laws on violence against persons.
It also noted that he has moved motions on key public issues, including the need to rehabilitate and equip the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, revive industrial activities in Kano, and review the activities of the Bureau of Public Enterprises.
Beyond legislative duties, the group listed several constituency projects and interventions attributed to the lawmaker. These include support for small businesses, empowerment of women and vulnerable groups, provision of educational materials and scholarships, and the installation of solar-powered boreholes across communities.
Other projects cited include the construction and rehabilitation of schools, healthcare centres, roads, and community infrastructure, as well as the donation of transformers to improve electricity supply in parts of the constituency.
The group further commended his focus on education, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development, stating that many students have benefited from sponsorship for examinations such as WAEC, NECO, and JAMB, as well as tertiary education support.
It added that his efforts in water supply, healthcare, and grassroots development have had a visible impact across the constituency.
The group expressed confidence that the lawmaker’s performance would stand him in good stead with voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
