The Kaduna State Government has dismissed as false a report circulating on social media claiming that Governor Uba Sani has endorsed some aspirants seeking election into the National Assembly ahead of future political contests.

The government described the claim as misleading and urged members of the public to disregard the report.

In a statement issued in Kaduna by the Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, said the governor had not endorsed, anointed or given preferential support to any aspirant seeking elective office.

Maiyaki said the message making the rounds on social media was the “figment of the imagination” of its authors and does not reflect the position of the Kaduna State Government.

According to the commissioner, the governor remains committed to democratic principles and believes that party members and stakeholders should determine candidates through established constitutional processes.

Maiyaki said any suggestion that the governor had taken sides or endorsed particular aspirants was therefore inaccurate and misleading.

The statement also warned individuals and groups against spreading fake news and politically motivated misinformation capable of creating unnecessary tension within the political space.
