2027: Nigeria needs a President of National Unity – Atiku’s Supporters

Global Initiatives for Good Governance (GIGG), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), has said Alhaji Atiku Abubakar remains the only politician in the country that could fix Nigeria.

The group in a statement by its Director-General, Dr. Emeka Kalu, stated that Atiku possessed the wealth of experience to rejuvenate the country from its present dungeon, saying only Atiku can redress the rots the All Progressives Congress (APC) created in the last nine years.

According to Kalu, leadership is a sensitive profession and needed persons with the skills like Atiku to improve the country from its economic woes in recent years.

Kalu reiterated that Atiku is an unbiased Nigerian with friends and connections across the country, irrespective of religion and ethnicity, stressing that those sentimentally harbouring ill-conceived feelings of ethnic hatred, mudslinging and media attacks on the personality of the former Vice President were the main enemies of Nigeria.

This is coming amidst row with a former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Olabode George who asked Atiku to wait till 2031 after the South must have completed its eight years.

But Kalu described those criticising Atiku as hired agents with a bleak political future.

He said: “As the curtain of 2027 general elections closes on, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar remains the only leader with the wealth of experience to fix Nigeria, rejuvenate the nation’s crumbling economy and bring it to the front page of excellence. The present state of the nation demands that a President of a national unity be popularly elected since the APC’s vetted nine years of governance has woefully failed us.

“Leadership is a sensitive profession and only those with the capacity, wisdom and sagacity are fit to govern the polity. Those sentimentally harbouring ill-conceived feelings of ethnic hatred, mudslinging and media attacks on Atiku’s personality are the main enemies of the country who are good at sponsoring and installing stooge in position of authority with the deceptive intent of receiving undue gratifications from the puppets.

“They rely on cheap political permutations to peddle falsehood against a man whose good antecedents have penciled his name on the golden stones of honour.”
He described Atiku as a round peg in a round hole, saying Nigeria would be economically transformed with his presidency.

He urged Nigerians to rally round Atiku by providing him with all political support needed to have him duly elected as the next President of Nigeria in 2027.
