The Rochas Political Institute for Emerging Leaders has declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term.

They also called for the release of Nnamdi Kanu to promote peace in Nigeria’s South East region.

The announcement was made at a press conference by members and facilitators, including student representative Peter Muoghara Ebubedike and facilitator Hon. Uba John Onyebuchi. They emphasised their commitment to ensuring a smooth transition for President Tinubu’s second term.

The institute expressed confidence in the current administration, recognising President Tinubu’s efforts in regional development, particularly through the South East Development Commission. However, they raised concerns about the underrepresentation of South Easterners in key political positions and advocated for more inclusive appointments.

The group also thanked their benefactor, Senator Rochas Anayo Okorocha, for his contributions to youth leadership and education in the region.

They stated: “We express our confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and fully support his second term bid.

“We believe the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will foster lasting peace in the South East and across the country.

“We appreciate the significant strides made by President Tinubu’s administration in regional development.

“We lament the lack of South Easterners in key political roles. Finally, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our benefactor, His Excellency Senator Rochas Anayo Okorocha, for creating this vital platform for the youth of the South East.”
