The senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Olajide Ipinsagba, has denied reports claiming he lost the just-concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election.
Ipinsagba and several other contestants vied for the APC ticket in the primary. However, the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja has yet to release the official results, leaving stakeholders in anticipation.
Speaking during a press briefing coordinated by his media aide, Prince Adeyinka Ajagunna, on Monday, the lawmaker reacted to media reports suggesting his political career had ended following his purported loss.
He described the reports as false and mischievous, insisting that his political relevance in the senatorial district remains intact.
“Our attention has been drawn to a commentary circulating in the media declaring that the political career of Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, the Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, is over following the recent APC primary,” the statement read.
“Since June 2023, the Senator’s office has worked to translate that mandate into tangible impact, including the facilitation of rural road projects, healthcare interventions, educational support for students across the six local government areas, and consistent constituency engagement. To reduce his support in Akoko North West to local influence alone ignores the grassroots structures, youth groups, women leaders, and traditional institutions that have partnered with this administration to deliver results.”
The statement further noted that Ipinsagba’s relationships within the National Assembly and the executive arm of government have been effectively leveraged to attract a federal presence to Ondo North.
It added that the senator has maintained a direct interface with constituents through town halls, constituency office hours, and project monitoring.
“Senator Ipinsagba’s service to Ondo North did not begin in 2023, and it will not end with a primary whose results are yet to be made public,” the aide added. “He remains a son of the soil, committed to development, youth empowerment, and accountable representation. The real contest is not between politicians, but between all of us and underdevelopment.”

While thanking the people of the senatorial district for their unwavering support, the statement assured constituents that the lawmaker would continue to serve Ondo North as a committed citizen.
