2027: PDP faction differs on engagements with ADC

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has refuted reports that the party held a meeting with leaders of the Action DemocraticADC, with a view towards forming an alliance ahead 2027.

National Publicity Secretary of the faction that has the support of the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, said they are not aware of any such meeting.

Muhammed said, any persons reported to have participated in such engagements did so purely in their individual capacities and cannot be deemed to represent the PDP in any form.

Accordingly, “the Party urges its members, supporters, and the general public to disregard these baseless claims, as they do not reflect the position or activities of the Party.

“Furthermore, the PDP wishes to inform its members that preparations for the conduct of Party primaries have progressed significantly. Further details regarding timelines and guidelines will be communicated in due course.”

Meanwhile, Daily Trust understands that the meeting between the two parties which is expected to resume next week will also inculcate other political parties, aiming to present a common front against the APC.
