2027: Political appointees in Katsina rush to tender resignation

As the deadline for government appointees aspiring to contest in the upcoming 2027 general elections to resign their appointments, several appointees in Katsina State are rushing to tender resignations.

Top among the list is the commissioner for environment Alhaji Hamza Sulaiman Faskari who was officially at the office of Secretary of the State Government Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari to tender his resignation as a commissioner.

Speaking to the media shortly after tendering his resignation letter, Faskari said he is resigning to contest in the All Progressive Congress (APC) primaries for senatorial seat.

“I am resigning to contest a senatorial seat in our party primaries, and I am doing so in response to our senatorial district call. I want to tell everyone who cares to listen that my loyalty to Governor Dikko Radda is unwavering, therefore, I am ever willing to obey his directives” he stated.

Another government appointee that tendered his resignation is the Special advisor to the governor on narcotic and human trafficking Malam Shehu Abdu Daura. According to him, he is resigning to take part in the state’s APC primaries for Daura zone senatorial district as senatorial aspirant.

Similarly, sources within the SSG’s office revealed that several appointees have been trooping to tender their resignations to the SSG’s office. The source revealed that resignations were still coming in and the office has been receiving and documenting.
