Political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections in Anambra State gathered pace on Wednesday as Barrister Nicholas Uchenna Odieli obtained the All Progressives Congress nomination form to contest for the Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

Odieli’s declaration signals the start of what is expected to be increasing political manoeuvring within the constituency as aspirants seek party tickets for the next election cycle.

Speaking after obtaining the form, Odieli said his interest in the race was centred on representation and development issues affecting communities in Oyi and Ayamelum.

He identified infrastructure, youth and women empowerment, economic opportunities and governance as areas he would focus on if elected.

According to him, the constituency requires leadership that addresses local needs and expands opportunities for residents.

He also urged party stakeholders and supporters to remain committed to what he described as fairness and responsible leadership.

His emergence adds to the early line-up of politicians seeking to secure strategic positions ahead of the 2027 polls, despite the formal commencement of broader election activities still some distance away.
