Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has intensified efforts to consolidate the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State.
Over the past week, Saraki hosted party leaders, ward executives, and stakeholders across Ilorin West and Ilorin East Local Government Areas.
The meetings, held around Iftar and Maghrib prayers, focused on strengthening grassroots structures and boosting voter registration ahead of the 2027 elections.
Officials described the engagements as part of a deliberate strategy to maintain close interaction with party members and encourage unity, vigilance, and active participation across the state.

Speaking to party faithful, Saraki stressed that organisation and voter mobilisation remain essential for electoral success.
“Organisation, mobilisation, and ensuring that our supporters are duly registered must remain our collective focus,” he said.
Ward representatives updated him on local activities and assured him of their commitment to strengthening the party’s grassroots network.
He also met former councillors, supervising councillors, and ex-local government chairpersons, calling for reconciliation and unity within the PDP.
“The PDP remains a shared home for all of us. Let us put the past behind us and move forward together,” he said.
In a separate engagement on Thursday, Saraki met young women from Ilorin South LGA, emphasising the importance of youth and women’s inclusion in leadership.
He also continued his humanitarian outreach through the Ile-Arugbo initiative, providing food support for elderly women in Ilorin.
