The police in Cross River State have arrested 21 persons over their alleged involvement in kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism and illegal possession and manufacturing of firearms.

Commissioner of Police in the state CP Nkereuwem Akpan, who paraded the suspects, said they were picked up by his operatives from different parts of the state between November and December 2019.

The CP said four of the suspects were arrested for kidnapping, eight for armed robbery, four for unlawful possession of firearms, four for cultism and one for firearms manufacturing.

He said during the raid on the house of the firearms manufacturer in Calabar South, eight single-barrel locally made pistols and one fabricated locally made Beretta pistol were recovered.
