A Senior Magistrate court no 29 of No Man’s Land Kano has remanded 22 employees of AMMASCO Nigeria Limited over alleged stealing of engine oil worth N158.8m.
The Police First Information Report stated that the accused persons Nura Muhammad, Isa Musa, Umar Idris, Kabiru Isa, Ayuba Tijjani, Nura Umar, Haruna Umar, Murtaka Abubakar and others being employees of the lubricant producing company were entrusted with engine oil for transportation from Lagos to Kano but they conspired and stole the product worth N158.8m.
When the FIR was read to the accused persons, they all pleaded not guilty to three count charges of criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and theft by servants contrary to Sections 97, 314 and 267 of Penal Code Law.
The presiding judge, Senior Magistrate Hassan Ahmad Fagge ordered for the remand of the accused in prison custody and adjourned the case to 30th October, 2018.
