The materials distributed comprised birds, pigs, animal feeds, stoves, drinkers and drugs for animal medication.
Distributing the materials to the benefiting youths recently at his country home Umuakuru Emekuku, the Chief of Staff Government House, Owerri and Commissioner for Special Duties, Sir Jude Ejiohu, said that the motive behind his distribution of the materials to the youths was predicated by the present government’s objective to revamp  agriculture in Imo State.
He disclosed that he decided to engage the youths in agricultural business as a result of the non availability of white collar jobs.
According to him, the effort was targeted at ensuring the eradication of unemployment and youths restiveness in the society.
He used the forum to call for all hands to be on deck in ensuring that youths in the state were assisted and discouraged from idleness, armed robbery, prostitution and other social vices.
Ejiogu pointed out that prior to the exercise, he organised an agro farm training for beneficiaries to enable them garner more knowledge that would equip them take good care of their animals, calling on them to utilise the opportunity judiciously.
The coordinator of the exercise and expert in farming, Mr. Kelechi Igwe, assured beneficiaries of his willingness to continue to assist them.
Separately speaking, some of the beneficiaries, Maxwell Nnadi, Kelechi Opurum and Ekene Okwu maintained that Emekuku community has many prominent political leaders, regretting that none of the leaders had done what Sir Ejiogu has done for the youths of the area.
They prayed God to continue to bless him and his household.
