Police in Ondo State have arrested 25-year-old Wale Ibrahim for the fatal stabbing of Fisayo Ajetumobi, a 25-year-old man, at Litaye Camp in the Ondo East Local Government Area.
According to a statement from DSP Olushola Ayanlade, the command’s spokesperson, the incident occurred at a construction site along Litaye Camp on Tuesday, September 16th. The police were notified of the incident at approximately 6.30pm.
He said the suspect, Ibrahim, reportedly went to the construction site and demanded N14,000 from Gabriel Oyeniran, money owed for wood he had previously sold to him.
According to him, an argument broke out between the two, and Ibrahim allegedly became violent.
“During the altercation, he stabbed Ajetumobi in the chest with a knife. Ajetumobi sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
“Ibrahim was promptly arrested by the police. Following a thorough investigation, he has been charged and will face trial,” the police spokesman added.
