230 public servants trained on e-Government

A total of 230 federal civil servants from different Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are to spearhead the drive for Nigeria’s transition to e-Government after successfully undergoing capacity building training administered by professors from Republic of Korea.
The training, jointly undertaken by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and government’s implementing agency – the ministry of communications – was carried out in two parts of 105 and 125 civil servants at the Public Service Institute, Abuja.
The five years project, according to KOICA, is intended to improve the efficiency and transparency of public administration service, which is a prioritised goal stated in Nigeria’s Vision 20:2020.
“The project components include; (1) the establishment of e-Government training centre, (2) massive capacity building programmes for a total of 22,625 Nigerian government officials from various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), and (3) setting up of e-Government Master Plan for Nigeria,” a statement by KOICA said.
