Dearth of resources is greatly militating against activities of Katsina State Emergency Management Agency towards addressing the issues of over 2,400 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the state, Daily Trust  gathered.

Most of the IDPs who are from the North-east are scattered across rented accommodation with most of them on eviction notice due to non-settlement of rents, aside health and education challenges.

A staff of SEMA confided in our reporter, “As am talking to you, we only have their lists and intermittently visit or dole out some few things to them. Funds are not forthcoming to enable us effectively manage them.”

When contacted, the Executive Secretary of SEMA Dr. Aminu Waziri said the agency was striving to support the IDPs in the face of increasing demands and scarcity of resources.
