25-year-old bricklayer convicted for burglary

A 25-year-old bricklayer in Osogbo, Mutiu Odewale, has been convicted by a magistrate court in Osogbo, Osun State, for burglary.

The prosecutor, Abiodun Fagboyinbo, told the court that Odewale burgled the house of one Saheed Olabiyi at Halleluyah Estate, Ido-Osun, on

October 7, 2019 at about 1.30am.

The accused person pleaded guilty to the offence levelled against him.

His counsel, Abosede Dada, pleaded that his client was a first time offender and was remorseful. Dada, therefore, prayed the court to mitigate the punishment to be meted out to him.

Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara found Odewale guilty as charged and convicted him.

Ayilara directed that the defendant be remanded in police custody till October 27, 2019 when he would be sentenced.
