Two hundred and fifty elderly persons across Akwa Ibom State have each received N100,000 as the Renewed Hope Elderly Support Initiative of Wife of the President, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu.
The 250 beneficiaries, who were drawn from the 31 local government areas of the state, also received free medical checks.
Wife of Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, hosted the beneficiaries on Friday to a party at the Government House Uyo.
Speaking during the occasion, Mrs Eno who said the event was held at the instance of Nigeria’s First Lady, explained that Mrs Tinubu approved the names of all the beneficiaries and the funds they received.

Eno stated that the elderly support was the beginning of many in the series to come, adding that she was happy that the event coincided with the Supreme Court judgment certifying the electoral victory of her husband.
