The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria SMEDAN has taken the Buy Made in Nigeria Campaign to China with its attendance at the just concluded China International SME Fair (CISMEF).

Twenty six Nigerian Micro Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (MSMEs) showcased over 40 different Nigerian products at the global fair in China.

A statement released by the agency reveals that over 300 SMEs from various countries participated at the international expo.

The Nigeria Pavilion was a beehive of activities as all through the duration of the fair; an average of 300 visitors engaged the Nigerian officials and exhibitors on a daily basis on business opportunities and investment in the country. Products exhibited   by Nigerian MSMEs at the fair include textiles, agricultural products, general products and leather products.

The Nigerian delegation was led by The Director General of SMEDAN, Dikko Umaru Radda who participated and made presentations on the state of MSMEs in Nigeria in two major events at the fair, The SMEs Cross Business Matchmaking Activity and the Guangdong Tour Belt and Road Campaign.

In an interview with newsmen on arrival to China, the DG SMEDAN, Dikko Umaru Radda commended the performance of the Nigeria exhibitors who actually came out to showcase what Nigeria has to the global community.  “As you are aware we are here to showcase Made in Nigeria goods to the world through CISMEF”.

Dr.  Radda added that through this expo, we were able to match make some of our SMEs with other investors and similar SMEs who are in China for the world exhibition. He said the results would surely come as in matchmaking the results are not immediate, but at least a business channel has been opened and this is good for Nigerian MSMEs.

China Small and Medium Enterprises Fair, CISMEF is a major international exhibition approved by the State Council and serves the development of the SMEs. It has been held successfully for 13 consecutive years since 2004, and the 14th edition was held at the Poly World Trade Centre Expo from 10th to 14th October.
