Twenty-six women from Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State have been trained on modern rice production, milling and packaging at the Institute of Agriculture, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria aimed at equipping them to be self-sufficient.
The training was sponsored by Sanga Local Government Council in its determination to improve the general economic lives of the people.
Speaking to newsmen after the completion of the training, the Executive Chairman of Sanga LGC, Charles Danladi said the trainees were expected to step down the training as soon as they return home for improved productivity.
Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke with Arewa Trust Weekly, expressed satisfaction at the training and promised to translate the knowledge into their lives and impact it on their various communities.
