The Jigawa State Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recorded 28 deaths and 268 injuries in 71 crashes in the last six months, the state sector commander, Angus Ibezim has said.
The figures were contained in a statement issued by the command in Dutse, the state capital yesterday.
According to the statement, human factor accounted for over 75 percent of the crashes and deaths adding that they could be attributable to over-speeding and dangerous driving.
Ibezim cautioned drivers particularly those operating commercial vehicles that the speed limit still remained 90 kilometres per hour and 100 kilometres per hourfor private vehicle drivers.
