The graduates were presented with certificates of completion on recently at an event at the Centre alongside graduates of the Centre’s tae kwon do class.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the KCC, Mr Suh Jeong Sun expressed delight at the performance of the students, who impressed with songs and poetry renditions in Korean and tae kwon do demonstrations.

“It is very important that they learned this language because it will go a long way in improving cultural ties between Nigeria and Korea,” he said.

One of the graduates, Latonya Patrick, who emerged the best student in Korean and also bagged a certificate in tae kwon do, said she is fulfilled having learned the language and hope to improve on her skills.

“I love languages and I have always loved their [Korean] culture from what I’ve seen of it on a programme on TV. I hope to get to the advance level, go to Korea someday soon, speak with the people and interact because they love to share. It’s not only the west we can look to, we can also get great things from the Far East or Asia,” she said.

She added that emerging the best student came as a total surprise to her.
