A 23-year-old armed robbery suspect, Adeoye Ayomide, has been arrested in the act in Ogun State wearing a NIgerian Army uniform.

The Ogun State police command said it arrested Ayomide at Mowe, off the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Daily Trust learnt that the suspect, along with his gang members, had robbed Adeyemo Adegboyega, a retired Army officer, of the sum of N86,000 on September 13, 2018, while armed with broken bottles.

After the robbery operation was reported at the Mowe Divisional Headquarters, the Divisional Police Officer, Francis Ebuhoma, and his men began trailing the hoodlums.

The police, it was learnt, received information last Tuesday that the gang had been sighted at the Mowe area.  Based on the information, policemen swiftly moved into action, chased the gang and arrested Ayomide allegedly dressed in Army uniform.

A police source said that a warrant was duly executed to search the suspect’s house where more fake Army uniforms were said to have been recovered.
