The scholarship was introduced by a Non-Governmental Organisation, Youth Empowerment Education Initiative (YEEI).
This was disclosed by the executive director of YEEI, Edewor Christopher, during a one-day seminar with the topic, ‘Girl Child Education: A Tool for National Development’ held in Minna.
Christopher said the awardees are from Maryam Babangida Girls College and Zarumai Model School both in Minna, the state capital.
“Girl child education is one of the most critical areas of women empowerment. Offering them basic education is one sure way of empowering them,” he said.
On ICT training for teachers in the state, Christopher explained that in January, YEEI in collaboration with Zinox Technologies commenced ICT training for all secondary school teachers in the state.
He said each teacher that underwent the training received Zpad system except for those who were either on course or on leave.
