A Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting at Nomansland in Kano has commenced the trial of three men accused of involvement in a violent clash that allegedly claimed one life in Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
The defendants—Buhari Bashir, Ahmad Sanusi and Yahaya Sanusi—are facing charges of criminal conspiracy, causing grievous hurt and culpable homicide.
The case is before Chief Magistrate Hadiza Abdurrahman of Magistrate Court No. 8.
When the charges were read, the defendants pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution subsequently sought an adjournment to enable it to re-present the defendants before the court.
The application was granted and the matter was adjourned until September 1, 2026.
According to the prosecution, the defendants allegedly instigated violence during a wedding ceremony in Baujawa village, Tsanyawa Local Government Area.
The incident reportedly left several people injured and resulted in one death.
