3 arraigned over theft of Dangote Group’s salt

The Lagos State Police Command yesterday arraigned three men before a magistrate’s court, Ogba, for conspiracy and theft.

The police prosecutor, Sergeant Godwin Awase, told the court that the accused, Musa Garuba, 48; Abdullahi Yaya, 36; and Adams Adamu, 25; conspired to steal crude salt worth N925,410, property of the Dangote Group on October 1, 2017 at No.15, Ikosi Road, Oregun, Ikeja.

 Sergeant Awase added that the offences were punishable under section 265 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.

 The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the two- count charge against them.

 The chief magistrate, Mr Jacob Adegun, granted the defendants bail in the sum ofN100,000 with one surety each in like sum.

 He then adjourned the case until November21, 2017 for trial.
