The police command in Lagos yesterday said it has arrested three persons it described as hoodlums for their alleged involvement in the death of one Nurudeen at the venue of last Saturday’s local government primaries in Agege.
The primaries were organised by the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The police said that the deceased was shot dead at the Central Community Primary School, Oniwaya, Agege, where one of the elections was held, during a fracas that erupted over the non-inclusion of the names of some delegates in the primaries.
Those arrested in connection with the crime were identified as Bosun Adigun, Sabitu Kamorudeen and Semiyu Ogunbono.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, briefing newsmen yesterday at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, said that during the election, pandemonium ensued and policemen heard gunshots from a distance.
“When the noise died down, one Nurudeen Lanlese, 40, was found in a pool of blood,” he added.
