Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of a man and the abduction of six persons during two coordinated kidnapping incidents in Oro community, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The suspects, Mohammed Olaiya Dende, Mohammed Dende and Somo Gida, were apprehended by the police following intelligence reports and testimonies from victims linking them to the violent attacks.
Daily Trust gathered that during the first incident, the assailants stormed the premises of Yusfu Cashew Factory in Agbe-Ola, Oro, where they abducted three individuals. One person, identified as Olugbo Jamiu, was shot dead during the invasion.
Barely 48 hours later, the group allegedly struck again in Oke-Erimi, Oro, where three more victims were kidnapped. The successive attacks caused panic across the community.
Police spokeswoman, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the development to our correspondent on Tuesday.
“You remember that those incidents raised concerns in the state but yes, they have been arrested and are now facing prosecution,” she said.
