The Katsina State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers alleged to have robbed and killed a 60-year-old businessman in the state.

Police said the three beat one Alhaji Ayuba Hamisu to a state of coma and robbed him of the sum of N40,000.

The suspects are Mubarak Abdullahi of Tsallatori village, Ashiru Ali of Marke village and Yusuf Dangaske.

Daily Trust gathered that on December 8, the trio conspired and attacked the victim and by the following day he was dead while receiving treatment at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Kano as a result of injuries he sustained from the attack. 

The state commissioner of police, Besen Gwana, told newsmen that the suspects have confessed to the commission of the offence and would be arraigned before the court as soon as investigation into the case was completed.

In a related development, two suspects, Rabe Abdu, 22 and Anas Yusuf, 25, have been arrested over the killing of a commercial motorcyclist, Jamilu Mohd,18, of Kongolom village, Mai’addua LGA of Katsina State.

A statement issued by the spokesman of Katsina police command, DSP Gambo Isaha, said the duo asked the victim to convey them from Kongolom to Taketa village, in Niger Republic, but before reaching Taketa village, the suspects forced the rider to stop in a bush, attacked and killed him.  

“The suspects abandoned the corpse and made away with the motorcycle. They were later apprehended with the said motorcycle at Mai’addua and have confessed to the commission of the crime. They will be arraigned in court after investigation,” he said.
