Three suspects have been arrested by the police in Sokoto over the killing of a village head, Alhaji Ibrahim Ardi Bijeje of Zamfarawa, Goronyo Local Government Area of the state.

The village head was allegedly killed in front of his house in last Monday, August 7, 2017 between 5 and 5:30 am.

He was said to have come out for the morning prayer when he was reportedly attacked and killed by the assailants.

Daily Trust learnt that nothing was taken away from the victim.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Sokoto Command Supol Ibrahim Abaras, who confirmed this to Daily Trust in Sokoto, said investigation was still on.

“Three suspects are with us. We are still investigating the matter,” he said, adding that the suspects would be charged to court after investigation.
