3 charged with theft of N7m goods in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned three suspects—Egbeyemi Mary (26), Adedoke Adeleye (21), and Awe Sunmisola (24)—before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court over alleged felony and stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants, sometime in December 2025 in Ado-Ekiti, conspired to steal goods worth N7 million belonging to one Atoun Olubunmi.

Inspector Oriyomi stated that the offence is punishable under Sections 421 and 302(1)(a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Ayorinde Busuyi, urged the court to admit his clients to bail on liberal terms, promising that they would not jump bail.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N250,000 each, with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned until February 27 for hearing.
