No fewer than three members of two rival secret cult gangs, Aiye and Eiye, were said to have been hacked to death in a bloody war that erupted between the two at Shibiri, Igbede and Imude areas of Ajamgbdi, in Ojo LGA of Lagos State.
Many others were also injured in the one-week fracas between the two rival groups.
The battle of who controls the area was said to have started on December 27, 2022 and lasted till Tuesday, January 3, 2023 as members of the two gangs went after each other with guns and cutlasses.
It was gathered that the fracas started from the waterfront at Igbede when a member of Aiye was traced and hacked down by suspected Eiye members.

Toyin Odunayo, a food seller at Igbede said the first person was shot dead at close range before his assailants butchered his corpse.
“The deceased was about 23 years old. He was first sighted along the waterfront by rival gang members.
“He took to his heels immediately he knew that he was going to be ambushed. He was pursued from the water to a street corner where he was shot.
“Not satisfied, his killers went further to machete him like mince-meat before they left him by the roadside for his gang members to see,” she added.
Another witness said the news of the killing, sparked off reprisal attack from rival gang members
The witness, a vulcanizer in the area, identified the second victim as Akeem, a henchman of one of the gangs.
“Akeem was traced to his girlfriend’s house at Igbede. On noticing that he was being trailed, he scaled the fence but he was gunned down before he could escape.
“His killers went round the streets dragging his corpse before it was abandoned at a street junction. The killing created tension in the area.”
Calls and text messages to the state police public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, were not answered nor returned at press time.
