Three decomposed corpses suspected to be of bandits have been discovered in the Unguwar Jibo Forest in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.
A resident of neighbouring Azzara village, Ibrahim Madaki, who spoke with our reporter through telephone on Wednesday, said the corpses were discovered in the early hours of Tuesday.
He explained that the corpses were discovered by two hunters who were returning home from hunting, saying he suspected that the bandits might have sustained bullet wounds while fleeing from an air bombardment at their camp in the area.
A community leader who preferred anonymity, also told our reporter that another suspected bandit’s corpse was discovered last week around Maraban Bishini, one kilometre from Azzara village.
He said, “I went to the scene and saw the corpse. It was shattered with bullet wounds.”
The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, SP Hassan Mansur, was yet to confirm the incidents.
