The police on Thursday arraigned three farmers, Rashidi Kareem (60), Dele Julius (41) and Musa Rasaki (65), in an Iyaganku magistrates’ court, Ibadan, Oyo State, over alleged killing of 33 cows at herders’ settlement in Kunbi village, Akinyele, Ibadan,

The prosecuting counsel, Akeem Akinloye, told the court that the men willfully and unlawfully killed 33 cows valued at N20m, property of Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar and Alhaji Muhammed Abubakar, on November 27, contrary to Sections 450 and 517 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.

After the farmers pleaded not guilty to the charges, the Magistrate, Mrs Olabisi Ogunkanmi, granted them bail in the sum of N1m each with two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case to January 19, 2026. (NAN)
