Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three women suspected of drug trafficking and possession of illicit drugs in the state.
The suspects, identified as Doris Okoroko (55), Gladys Otah (46), and Anita Samuel (23), were arrested at their hideout in Afisere town.
State Commissioner of Police, Abaniwoda Olufemi, said the arrests were made by the CP-Special Assignment Team. Acting on credible intelligence, the team conducted a sting operation and raided a hideout in Ughelli North Local Government Area, where the women were apprehended.
According to Olufemi, a thorough search of the suspects and their hideout led to the recovery of large quantities of various illicit drugs, including tramadol, codeine, swinol, and cannabis.

The commissioner said an investigation is ongoing and the suspects will be charged in court.
