The Kaduna State Police Command has rescued three kidnapped minors and arrested three suspects in connection with the crime.
A distress call was lodged on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, by a father who reported that his children, Aslam Umar Lukman (14), Suleiman Umar Tanko (12) and Aliyu Umar Tanko (10) were abducted the previous day, with the kidnappers demanding a ransom of N50 million.
According to the Command, operatives deployed intelligence strategies to lure out the alleged kingpin, Richard Philip, who was subsequently arrested.
During interrogation, Philip confessed to the crime and revealed his accomplices, identified as Ibrahim Ma’aruf (18) and Abubakar Sadiq (15).
Police stormed the suspects’ hideout, arrested them, and successfully rescued the victims unhurt.
The children have since been reunited with their family by the Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad.
