Three persons were reported killed and three others injured when bandits attacked Marar Zamfarawa village of Danmusa LGA in Katsina State.
The bandits were said to have launched the attack at about midnight on Saturday..
Those killed according to the locals include Aminu Yusuf, Lawal Akushi and Mansir Danliti while Rabiu Mala, Shamsu and Sharhabilu who were injured are presently receiving treatment at Danmusa General Hospital.
Locals alongside security personnel were said to have confronted the bandits in a shootout which limited further attacks in the area.
The deceased were buried yesterday morning after funeral rites in the village.
However, while confirming the attack, the spokesman of the state police command said two people lost their lives in the attack as reported by the Divisional Police Officer in the area.
