Three people were killed and four others injured in an accident at Awawa village along Abuja-Lokoja Expressway.
A witness said the accident occurred at about 3:30am on Saturday when the driver of a Volkswagen Sharon vehicle with registration number MKA 267 YA suddenly rammed into an unmarked moving truck.
The witness said the driver and two other passengers in the front died on the spot while those injured were taken to Abaji General Hospital by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps.
Our reporter learnt that the Kaduna bound vehicle had left Enugu State the night before the accident.
When contacted, the Abaji unit commander of the FRSC, ACC Olasupo Esuruoso, confirmed the accident, which he attributed to speed limit violation and loss of control.
He said the corpses had been deposited at the morgue of Abaji General Hospital, while the four injured passengers were receiving treatment at the same hospital.
He added that three persons were also injured in another accident which occurred on Wednesday at Aseni village, along the same road.
According to him, the accident which involved a Toyota Sienna bus with registration number LXD 527 XS, happened at about 3:15am.
He said the driver was speeding when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid a pothole and ended up crashing into a ditch.
The FRSC commander said the three injured persons, two male adults and one female adult, were taken to Abaji General Hospital for attention.
