Three male passengers were trapped to death while 14 others sustained injuries when an 18-seater commuter Hiace bus crashed into a tanker in the early morning of Thursday at Kamadi junction, along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.
A witness said the accident happened around 6:01am when the bus, with registration number, AKK 54 XB, coming from the Lokoja axis, rammed into the tanker, which was on motion, and trapped the three occupants, including the driver.
He said the bus, which belongs to Gombawa Motors, was conveying passengers from Lagos to Gombe when the incident happened.
He said 14 other passengers inside the bus, male adults, sustained injuries and were rescued and taken to the hospital in Kwali town by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

Our reporter who arrived at the scene about 8:37am saw officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) with an extricating machine trying to remove the corpses of the two trapped passengers and the driver from the bus.
An official of the FRSC who preferred anonymity confirmed to our reporter at the scene that three persons lost their lives while 14 others sustained injuries.
He attributed the accident to speed limit violation, loss of control and fatigue, even as he said the three corpses had been deposited at the Kwali General Hospital morgue.
He said the 14 passengers that sustained injuries were taken to the same hospital, as well as Rhema Clinic in Kwali.
