No fewer than three persons were reportedly killed when members of rival groups, popularly known as Sara-Suka, clashed on Sunday in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Our correspondent who witnessed the incident reports that the clash started hours after eid-el-fitirprayers at Al-Mohap praying ground.
Daily Trust gathered that there has been a long-standing feud between the two rival groups, which had been simmering before the latest incident. The latest clash allegedly occurred when one group sought revenge against members of the other, who had reportedly attended a prayer session at the Almohad praying group.
The members of the rival groups were seen carrying machetes and knives attacking one another, leading to the stabbing of three to dead. Many were also said to have been injured.
Passersby were also injured during the incident and were rushed to the hospital.
Daily Trust reports that vigilante groups swiftly mobilized to restore law and order around the area, who were seen chasing and apprehending some of the suspects.
