Three persons have died in an accident involving two vehicles near Gwako Village on Abuja-Lokoja road. 

Three other passengers who sustained injuries in the accident were taken to hospital by officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC). 

A witness said the accident occurred on Saturday afternoon at about 12:55pm when a Honda car with registration number DD109ABC collided with a tanker with registration number KMC 891ZQ.

He said the Honda driver overtook another vehicle dangerously and suddenly collided with the petrol tanker coming from Zuba axis leaving three persons in the vehicle dead. 

When contacted, the Gwagwalada Unit Commander of the FRSC, ACC Moses Attah, confirmed the accident, which he attributed to dangerous overtaking and loss of control.

He said six people were involved in the accident adding that the corpses were handed over to relatives for burial.

He said the three injured persons were receiving treatment at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), Gwagwalada.
